Kerry Pryor
Kerry Pryor is an Australian photographer and creative. Her career has seen her undertake various projects and experiences. Including; running a commercial photography business, working as an exhibiting artist, teaching and running photography workshops, and through her work, fundraising and bringing awareness to help effect change for international charitable initiatives.
Since graduating from RMIT, Applied Photography 2005- 2008, Kerry’s work has seen her travel extensively, particularly with regular trips to Nepal and Ethiopia.
Her talent for connecting with people has brought Kerry into some of the most humbling and hair-raising situations in life. Natural care, patience, and an ability to connect with her subject are part of her signature style.
Her projects are complex and often difficult to document.
Kerry has continued to develop her practice documenting projects and bringing stories to life creatively through photography.
In 2018 Kerry moved to Nepal to work on projects she has been documenting over several years. During this time, she worked with different foundations in diverse roles that have brought depth and insight to her work and, in return, the social issues she photographs.
In 2019 Kerry was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to photography, and to international charitable initiatives.
Kerry continues working on projects that explore topics in-depth with considerations to community involvement and viewer engagement. She is keen to show and raise awareness of issues by bringing attention through critical thinking and creative approaches.
