Jo Duck is a fine art and advertising photographer based in Melbourne, Australia.
Drawing inspiration from strangers and the strange, her portfolio of imagery is both bizarre and heart-warming. The humour of her work is coupled with intense research and an exhaustive approach to pre-production, seeing the creation of unique and atmospheric narratives.
Duck has exhibited at the Centre for Contemporary Photography in Melbourne multiple times. Her work has also been shown at Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam and is upcoming at Design Museum Holon, Israel. Jo Duck was a finalist for the Bowness Photography Prize in 2019 and 2021, Josephine Ulrick & Win Schubert award 2022 and National Portrait Prize 2023.
Photo Collective acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land and waters on which we live, work and travel. As people who seek meaning and knowledge through storytelling, we recognise that the First Peoples of this land have been doing so for over 60,000 years. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging.
