Buzz Gardiner
Buzz Gardiner is an Australian-Solomon Island Photographer with a focus on the Arts. Born and raised in Vanuatu – Buzz moved to the Gold Coast 16yrs ago, where he has lived on and off ever since. Buzzs’ images explore the experience of Melanesians in the Diaspora and seek to dismantle the perception of Melanesia fostered by decades of foreign ‘representation’ in the visual space. By presenting a more contemporary Islander, the barrier of culture shock is removed, allowing the viewer to see those pictured as individuals, rather than visual aphorisms.
