Aishah Kenton
(Nur) Aishah Kenton (b. 1998) is a Singapore-born, Australian photographer, artist and educator. Having grown up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Aishah graduated from the Australian National University in Canberra with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (2018), where she majored in photography at the School of Art and Design.
In 2018 Aishah was awarded an Emerging Artist Support Scheme Award for her graduating exhibition To Whom it May Concern. The award was given by the Goulburn Regional Gallery, where her series Second Exit was exhibited in 2019/20.
Aishah already has many accolades behind her, including being a finalist in the Maggie Diaz Photography Prize for Women (2017), Chico Portfolio Review, USA (2020), the CLIP Landscape Award at Perth Centre For Photography (2020), as well as making the longlist for Foam Talent Call, Amsterdam (2020) and Monster Children’s Young Bright Thing (2022).
In 2020 Aishah was admitted into Oculi, Australia’s pre-eminent documentary photographic collective and In 2021 she co-founded Pacific Center For Photographic Arts (PCPA), a non-profit photography education organisation for people in regional, rural and remote areas of Australia and the Pacific.
Aishah is one half of KENTON/DAVEY, the other half being her husband and fellow photographer, Sean Davey.
