Australian Photography Awards

Join us at The Store gallery at Abbotsford Convent on August 1 for the 2026 APA Event.

This year marks the tenth edition of APA, and we are excited to bring our community together to celebrate the shortlisted and finalist images from this year. With the shift to a single Open Category, the event will showcase a wide range of work in both projection and print, reflecting the breadth of photographic practice across Australia.

The evening will culminate in the live announcement of the three equal prize recipients who will share in the $17,000 AUD prize pool supported by Nikon Australia, HC Pro, and Tecart, along with the presentation of the Student Prize supported by The Brownbill Effect for photographers currently enrolled in a recognised course. It will be a fantastic opportunity for artists, friends and supporters to gather and celebrate Australian photography.

Following the official proceedings, you are invited to stay on and continue enjoying the night. There will be music, drinks and food as we share in this tenth‑edition celebration together.
